ow a Way to Get Rid of a Double Chin — Without Surgery
Are you totally over your double chin and looking for a way to slim it down? Well, there actually might just be one. For women who aren’t ready or willing to go through the surgical stress of liposuction, the Food and Drug Administration just approved a new injectable product called Kybella, designed to reduce the appearance of fat deposits under the chin.
A miracle solution? Maybe. Kybella’s active ingredient is something called deoxycholic acid, which, put quite simply, dissolves fat. Around 50 small needles are placed into the jawline, and one session won’t do the trick. The full treatment usually takes two to six sessions, and each one takes around 20 minutes each.
There are some side effects, too, though most of them minor. Some study participants reported swelling, pain, and bruising. And it absolutely needs to go into the fat cells to work. If it goes into the skin cells, you could harden your skin.
