New Delhi: Yesterday,On April 5, Millions of people switched off lights and lit diyas, candles and lamps in their balconies and doorsteps following the words from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fight against coronavirus.
At 9 PM, Millions of diyas lits, it seems like Diwali, and people chants “Bharat Mata Ki Jai“.
However, the Prime Minster had requested diyas for 9 minutes from 9 PM, but people kept this for nearly 30 minutes, while the lamps lits for much longer. People also switched off the lights of their homes for much longer than 9 minutes.
Around at 9:30, Narendra Modi tweeted a photo of him with lighting a lamp. He was wearing a blue kurta and posted a short Sanskrit poem.
As we know that, on Friday, Primev Minister had recommended to turn off lights for 9 minutes from 9 PM, and lit Diyas, candles or torch for 9 minutes. So everyone had followed it to showing our unity against fight Coronavirus.
Coronavirus Update:In India, 4,067 confirmed cases for coronavirus, including 109 deaths and 292 has been recovered. So number of active cases in India now 3,666.
